Showers and Thunderstorms for the East; Cooler Temperatures Return Sunday into Early Week

Showers and thunderstorms will accompany a cold front that will move across the eastern third of the country through Sunday. Summary: The tornado touched down on Fork Hill approximately one-half mile northwest of the intersection of PA 249 and 49 and traveled east for about 2.5 miles through Knoxville just north of PA 49 before lifting just east of Academy Corners. Damage indicators included about 250 uprooted/snapped trees and moderate to major damage to 8 residential homes. In total, 25 homes were affected and a roof was torn from a community center.
