Heavy Rain and Flooding in Florida; Unsettled Weather in the West

A stationary front will produce thunderstorms and heavy rainfall that could lead to local flooding across the Florida Peninsula through midweek. A strong Pacific storm will bring unsettled weather to much of the Western U.S. through Thursday. Heavy rainfall may result in isolated flash flooding near burn scars and sensitive terrain. Students may request a Job Shadow at the National Weather Service office in State College, PA for Summer or Fall 2025.

The goal of our Job Shadow Program is to allow the volunteer to gain experience in the operations of a National Weather Service Forecast Office and a River Forecast Center.
