Severe thunderstorms are expected today during the mid-late afternoon through the evening hours. The main risks will be damaging wind gusts and large hail, up to golf ball size, especially along and north of the Interstate 20 corridor and up into the Highway 82 corridor. A tornado can not be ruled out, especially in the Highway 82 corridor.
Severe storms are possible across the entire region from late Wednesday night through Thursday. While uncertainty remains in the exact timing, a few rounds of storms will be likely. Damaging wind gusts, large hail, and tornadoes are all possible. The threat level may increase, so continue to monitor later outlooks for updates.
Thunderstorms will develop today as a weather disturbance moves across the area. Some of the storms could be severe. High temperatures will warm into the lower 80s for most of the area.
The threat for severe weather will continue into the evening over eastern portions of the area. Otherwise, look for decreasing rain chances with the departing system. Lows will be in the lower to middle 60s.
