Severe Thunderstorms in the Central U.S.; Upper Level Low Over California

Scattered severe thunderstorms are possible today across central and eastern Minnesota, Iowa, and western Wisconsin. A few tornadoes, isolated very large hail, and damaging winds may occur. Temperatures will continue to be on the rise under the influence of an upper level high. Temperatures will climb into the mid and upper 90s through tomorrow. A few locations may briefly hit 100. Heat indices will also reach into the triple digits. Stay cool out there!
A weak cold front will bring temperatures back to near normal heading into next week, along with a return of rain chances. Scattered showers and storms may accompany the front into North Texas Sunday evening into Monday morning, with additional rain chances lingering through midweek.
