Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible this evening. These storms will have the potential to produce heavy rainfall with possible flooding.
Thunderstorm chances possible through this evening and again Sunday afternoon. "Cooler" temperatures continue Sunday with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
Temperatures gradually increase next week. Heat Advisory temperatures will be possible later next week, especially off the Caprock.

 

 

 

Local Weather History For July 18th...
1967: A severe hailstorm with giant hailstones battered the Idalou area late this afternoon devastating crops and
inflicting heavy damage to homes and businesses. Hardly a building along 1st Street was said to have escaped damage as
hundreds of windows on the north sides of buildings were shattered. Maturing cotton and fully-headed grain fields in the
vicinity were obliterated by giant hailstones up to grapefruit size. Agricultural losses were said to be $500,000 with at
least $200,000 in property damage.
