Renewed development of heavy showers and storms is possible Wednesday evening through the early morning hours on Thursday. Storms will be capable of producing large hail, damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, and flooding from heavy rainfall.

The start of October will feature slightly cooler than normal temperatures, with decreasing rain chances (although a few light showers can't be ruled out Thursday night into Friday). Northerly winds are expected on Thursday, with gusts as high as 30 mph at times.

Local Weather History For September 30th...
2004: Scattered to numerous thunderstorms exited eastern New Mexico late this day and generated several cases of flooding
across the southern South Plains and southern Rolling Plains. Several roads from Brownfield east to Jayton and Guthrie had
to be closed due to impassable volumes of water. Ten miles west of Tahoka, flash flooding washed a car off the road on
Highway 380. In Post, several vehicles became stranded in several feet of water.
