Will be a mild night with lows in the 60s across the region with breezy southerly winds.
Sunday will be warm and breezy. Shower and thunderstorms will be possible during the afternoon across the South Plains. Storm chances expand over much of the region through the evening.
A cold front will cool temperatures and continue precipitation chances for the first part of next week. Temperatures will become unseasonably warm and conditions will dry out Wednesday and continue through the rest of the week.

 

 

 

Local Weather History For October 11th...
1960: A tornado destroyed two drive-in theaters and stacked seven trailer houses in a pile on the outskirts of Friona this
afternoon. About one mile west of town, one farm home was damaged and several outbuildings destroyed. A quarter mile
farther west, similar damage was observed. One man was injured when the truck he was driving was rolled 45 feet off the
highway. The tornado was in progress for about 15 minutes.
