Thunderstorm chances expected the rest of today and Wednesday. Chances this afternoon and evening are mostly off the Caprock, however there is a small chance storms could expand across eastern portions on the Caprock. Storms will be possible across southern South Plains and Rolling Plains early on Wednesday.
Once storms clear this evening, the rest of the overnight period will be quiet.
Cooler temperatures with highs in the 80s are expected across much of the region on Wednesday. Thunderstorm chances return across southern South Plains and Rolling Plains.
Thunderstorm chances continue through Saturday. Cooler temperatures expected through Friday before a slight warm up this weekend.

 

 

 

Local Weather History For July 14th...
1961: One farm home, two vehicles and several outbuildings were heavily damaged by a tornado late this evening near
Parnell in Hall County. The tornado bounced along the ground for about five miles. Several other storms late this evening
and early night produced damaging hail that in some cases wiped out thousands of acres of crops throughout Hall, Floyd,
Swisher, Hale, and Hockley Counties.
