Heavy Rain and Flash Flooding Threat in Montana; Severe Thunderstorms in the Middle Missouri Valley

A low pressure system will bring heavy to excessive rainfall and high winds across Montana this afternoon. Heavy rainfall totals may lead to scattered flash flooding concerns. Temperatures will continue to be on the rise under the influence of an upper level high. Lows tonight will be in the low to mid 70s with highs tomorrow afternoon in the mid to upper 90s. A few locations may even hit the triple digit mark.
Hot temperatures will continue this weekend. Friday will be the hottest day, with afternoon highs reaching into the mid to upper 90s. While only a few locations will see temperatures top 100 degrees, heat index values will be in the triple digits for nearly all locations. If spending time outdoors this weekend, take all necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses. Temperatures will slightly decrease each day but will remain above normal areawide. Low storm chances will return to western North and Central Texas Sunday evening.
