Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine Continues to Strengthen

Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine is forecast to intensify and be near hurricane strength Wednesday in the far northwestern Caribbean Sea. It is expected to intensify into a major hurricane before it approaches the northeastern Gulf Coast on Thursday. Scattered storms will continue across Central TX today before additional storms develop tonight with rain chances for all of North & Central TX. Highs will mostly climb into the mid and upper 80s with overnight lows in the 60s.
Lingering showers and storms will taper off and exit southeast by midday Wednesday. Highs will climb into the lower and middle 80s.
Highs in the 80s are expected to end the week with slightly breezy conditions Friday and Saturday. Low rain chances return Friday across the northeast.
