Total rainfall through Saturday evening is shaping up a little less on the Caprock, where generally a half-inch or less is expected, while areas off the Caprock can expect a half-inch or more.
Showers and thunderstorms will increase in coverage tonight with the greatest potential in the southern South Plains and the Rolling Plains. A few storms could become severe. After some lingering showers Saturday morning, a lull is expected before additional showers and a few storms develop in the afternoon.
Drier and warmer conditions return Sunday and continue through next week. Winds will also be relatively strong, and elevated to critical fire danger is expected each day from Tuesday through Thursday.
