Scattered showers/storms over portions of the Brazos Valley/Piney Woods overnight. Locally heavy rainfall possible. Patchy fog possible near and south of I-10 during the late night to early morning hours. Lows 65-70°.

Near record high temperatures again around and south of the Houston metro area with highs in the low to mid 80s. Scattered showers/storms mainly north of I-10 as a weak cold front approaches. Low temperatures range from the upper 50s to upper 60s as the cold front begins to push in overnight. Shower/storm chances continue overnight along the front.

Things are beginning to come a little more into focus with rain potential along a cold front making its way in on Friday. Confidence is increasing in the heavy rain threat focusing mainly north and west of our area, though some portions of Southeast Texas can't yet rule out isolated issues if a stronger storm occurs over a spot vulnerable to flooding. The front will be weakening as if moves towards the coast, and the heavy rain threat will begin to wane as it moves through the area.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected late Sunday into Monday night as another disturbance and associated cold front pushes through Southeast TX. Locally heavy rainfall could lead to instances of minor street flooding. Marginal Risk (level 1 of 4) of Excessive Rainfall for the Brazos Valley/Piney Woods for late Sunday. Slight Risk (level 2 of 4) of Excessive Rainfall for portions of the Piney Woods and a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 4) for the remainder of Southeast Texas for Monday/Monday night.

Near record high temperatures through the end of the work week. Shower/storm chances increasing late Thursday into Friday as a frontal boundary begins to push into the region. Frontal boundary stalls and lingers over the weekend leading to persistent rain chances.
