Drought Conditions Intensify

Some patchy early morning fog. Skies will start off mostly cloudy, then becoming partly cloudy later in the afternoon. Highs in the 80s. South-southwest winds 10-20 mph.

Another day, another chance to see if any record high temperatures fall. Our forecast is for tied records at both Houston sites and College Station, and the model guidance available to us suggests tied or broken records are highly likely. Even at the coast where the odds of a new record are much lower, today's eventual high should still be within a handful of degrees of the daily record!

A cold front is anticipated to move through SE Texas late Thursday. Heavy rainfall will be possible with storms ahead of and along the front. Some storms could be on the stronger side and produce damaging wind gusts. Look for the heaviest rains to begin to move in from the NW Thursday night, exiting the area Friday morning.

Drought conditions continue to expand across southeast Texas. Low rain chances will return to the forecast beginning early next week.
