Multiple Days of Severe Weather from Thunderstorms and Wildfires

Active spring pattern across the center of the nation with several rounds of severe thunderstorms in the forecast through the weekend. The regions under the greatest threats are the southern Plains into the Mississippi Valley. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon/evening mainly along and north of I-10. There is potential for a few storms to become strong to severe. Slight Risk (level 2 of 5) of severe weather for portions of Houston, Trinity, and Polk counties. Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5) of severe weather north of a Galveston-Angleton-El Campo line. Damaging winds and hail are the primary hazards, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
Mostly cloudy to partly cloudy skies with warm and humid conditions. Isolated storms possible along and north of I-10. A few storms may become strong to severe.
Mostly cloudy and humid conditions. Patchy fog possible overnight into Saturday morning.
Partly cloudy skies with hot and humid conditions. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms possible north of I-10.
Summer-like temperatures expected late in the weekend into early next week. Heat index values near triple digits. Moderate HeatRisk expected for portions of Southeast Texas late in the weekend into the middle of next week.
Warming trend continues with high temperatures beginning to peak into the low 90s over the weekend. Slight rain chances remain in the forecast nearly daily.
