Very dry and windy weather will contribute to elevated fire weather concerns, particularly Saturday afternoon when relative humidity values drop into the 15-20% range for most of the area. Winds Saturday afternoon will be gusting to 20-25 mph. Avoid any activities that could spark wildfires. A Red Flag Warning is in effect along and west of the Brazos River.
A Small Craft Advisory is in effect from 9 PM this evening to 7 AM Sunday from High Island to Matagorda Shipping Channel and for Galveston Bay and Matagorda Bay. Winds will be out of the north at 15 to 30kt with gusts to 35 kt. Seas will be 6-9 ft with rough bay waters.
A Low Water Advisory remains in effect for Galveston Bay and Matagorda Bay through early Sunday evening. Negative tide levels expected with the lowest water levels around low tide cycles, and especially in the northern and central bay areas. There is an increased chance of vessel grounding.
Tonight's lows will drop into the 30s across the Piney Woods. Elsewhere, expect lows in the 40s with some lower 50s at the coast. Low chance for rain along the coast. Northerly winds will gust to 20-30mph. Wind chills will be in the 30s north of I-10.
It will be cooler and breezy Saturday with highs in the lower 50s to lower 60s. Northerly winds will gust to 20 to 25 mph. High fire danger along and west of the Brazos River.
Forecast low temperatures Sunday morning range from the 20s north to the 30s/lower 40s near the coast. Medium to high chances for a freeze, except in Houston and along the bays/Gulf where chances are lower.
Low to medium chances of a hard freeze with temperatures 24 or lower north, mainly along and north of Highway 190.
