A strong cold front will move through late Friday into Saturday, ushering in our coldest temperatures of the season so far. Sub-freezing temperatures will be possible all the way to the coast Saturday & Sunday night with a hard freeze possible for parts of the area.
The cold air will overlap with some lingering moisture behind the cold front, leading to the potential for freezing rain or sleet Saturday into Sunday morning for parts of the region. This is still several days away, so please monitor the forecast for any changes.
Expect increasing cloud cover throughout the day today with high temperatures in the low to upper 60s. Rain chances return overnight into Wednesday morning with low temperatures ranging from the upper 40s to upper 50s.
A weak coastal low will bring scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms to the area Wednesday. Coverage will be greatest in the afternoon and along the coast. Generally looking at rainfall totals of up to 0.25-0.5", but locally higher amounts possible along the coast.
A Low Water Advisory remains in effect for Matagorda Bay through 6 PM this evening and Galveston Bay through 10 PM Tuesday. Negative tide levels expected with the lowest water levels around low tide cycles, and especially in the northern and central bay areas. There is an increased chance of vessel grounding.
