A cluster of thunderstorms is expected to develop across central and northeast Texas Tuesday afternoon. This cluster of storms is expected to move across southeast Texas Tuesday evening through early Wednesday morning. Some of these storms will be capable of becoming strong to severe, mainly Tuesday night.

A cluster of thunderstorms is expected to move across southeast Texas late Tuesday into Wednesday morning. Rainfall amounts will average 1 to 3 inches with locally higher totals mainly north of I-10. Areawide Marginal Risk (level 1 of 4) of Excessive Rainfall.

Unsettled pattern will lead to continued high chances for showers and thunderstorms, with additional rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall. This rainfall will generate runoff and river responses, especially where we see repeated heavy rainfall over the same locations.

High rain chances through the weekend. Temperatures near normal through the weekend.

There is a high risk of rip currents along all Gulf facing beaches through Tuesday evening. Stay away from rocks and swim near a life guard.

A Small Craft Advisory is now in effect until Tuesday morning from High Island to Matagorda Ship Channel out 60 nautical miles, including Galveston Bay and Matagorda Bay. Winds will be out of the southeast at 20 kts. with gusts to 30 kts. Seas will be 5-8 ft with rough bay waters.
