A HIGH risk of rip currents is expected for all Gulf-facing beaches through at least Sunday. Rip currents can sweep even strong swimmers away from shore. If caught in one, do not swim against it; swim parallel to the shoreline until you escape, then angle toward the beach. If you cannot reach shore, call for help.
Hot weather is expected today in southeast Texas. Highs will reach 88°-95°F (31°-35°C). Heat Index Values will reach 102°-109°C (39°-43°C). Make sure to stay hydrated!
Hot weather is expected on Tuesday in southeast Texas. Highs will reach 89°-95°F (32°-35°C). Heat Index Values will reach 102°-108°C (39°-42°C). Make sure to stay hydrated!
Summer heat is expected over southeast Texas through the next seven days. Highs will reach 87°-96°F (31°-36°C). The afternoon heat index will reach 99°-111°F (37°-44°C). Lows early in the morning will be around 73°-85°F (23°-29°C). Heat safety should be practiced. Stay hydrated. Reduce time outdoors between 10 am – 6 pm. Check on elderly,
kids and pets, as they are all sensitive to heat. Wear light-weight, light-colored clothing.
