A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for coastal areas east of Sargent and adjacent offshore Gulf waters.

Tropical Storm Bertha will track westward along the Upper Texas today and eventually inland this evening. The primary impact will be gusts to weak tropical storm in some of our coastal counties. Highest rain and scattered storm chances should generally be along and south of the I-10 corridor. Northern parts of the region may not even see any rain.

Moderate to strong rip currents and along shore currents are expected along the Gulf-facing beaches. Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.

A Heat Advisory is in effect from noon to 7 PM Thursday mainly for areas west and north of Harris County. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 90s while heat indices will reach 106-110 degrees F.

Rain chances lower after today. Continued hot with highs in the mid to upper 90s and heat index readings in the triple digits.
