Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms containing moderate to heavy rainfall expected through the weekend. Locally heavy rainfall capable of at least minor flooding is expected. River rises to action and minor flood state expected by the weekend.

A Flood Watch is in effect from Thursday morning through Monday morning for portions of southeast Texas, including Jackson, Matagorda, Wharton, Fort Bend, Brazoria, and Galveston counties. Impacts include excessive runoff resulting in flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood prone locations.

Highs for today will be in the mid to upper 80s. Winds will be light out of the southeast. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon.

Overnight lows ranging from the upper 60s to upper 70s, mostly cloudy skies. Light fog and isolated thunderstorms possible overnight.
